In my opinion, the key to the Hurricanes' success will be the ability of the new-look offensive line to settle in and jell. While it's a true freshman left tackle who'll be thrown into the fire as a starter, the experience and talent of the rest of the line could make all the difference. The Hurricanes will also have to replace plenty of high-impact players on the defensive side of the ball, but with a terrific pass rusher added in the transfer portal and a group of talented young players stepping up, the defense could be just as strong as the offense. What many people don't realize is that the Hurricanes return both coordinators year over year, which could be a huge advantage. Shannon Dawson and Corey Hetherman will be able to build on the success of the 2025 season and dial up plays that take advantage of the team's strengths. While the odds may be stacked against the Hurricanes, I think they have the potential to make a run at the national title. If you take a step back and think about it, the combination of a strong offense, a solid defense, and experienced coordinators could be a recipe for success.
